Surprise is the best word to recap Divisional playoff games in both conferences. The defending champs New York Giants entered the playoffs this week with a home-game against the Philadelphia Eagles at Giants Stadium.

The Giants were on the path to succede to theirselves, but their route ended against Philly.
Although New York seemed to be almost invicible, very tough to beat, Philadelphia with a very solid game plan showed that beating the defending champions on their own field was definetley not impossible.

They applied what they're known for, a huge defense, they blitzed Giants' quarterback all day!
In this conditions, there's abslutely no surprise Eli Manning was hurried in his choices and took some bad decisions and it was unexpected for Asante Samuel (photo below #22) who picked off Manning, he returned this interception to NYG 1. New York has the reputation to have a very productive running game with earth, wind and fire but it turned out a little bit less impressive than it usually is.
The powerfull Brandon Jacobs  imposed his huge physic but it didn't pay off big dividends even though he ran 19 times for 92 yards, he did not score any touchdown, Derrick ward plays in another register, he gained 46 yards in 12 carries.

It was clearly a big defensive confrontation between these two teams from the NFC east. Eli Manning (photo below #10) threw 15 of 29 for 169 yards and 2 interceptions, felt in his loser behaviours again. He ducked his head because things didn't go the way he wants.

His opponent at quarterback position, Donovan McNabb, knows exactly how to cope with this kind of situation. McNabb threw for 217 yards with a decent 22 of 40 pass attempts, 1 touchdown, 2 interceptions too but the difference between these two players is Eagle's quarterback is in his 10th season and he led already his team to a NFC Championship game 5 times in the last 8 seasons.

He learned from his mistakes and is aware that 2 interceptions in a game at this level of intensity are definitely not a big deal if you know how to bounce back.
And that's exactly what McNabb (photo below #5) did by throwing his only touchdown of the game to his tight end Brent Celek

You have to know that McNabb has no big target to throw to so he has to deal with this complicated situation. The emerging this season of rookie DeSean Jackson helps a little and hopefully, they've got a guy like Brian Westbrook who's a good ball carrier but, also, a very good short passes reciever but still no big target who could make big plays.

Finally the Eagles won this game over the defending champs on a such unexpected 23-11 score.

New York didn't find out any solution to score a touchdown with both ground attack and passing game. I insist you to understand that the Eagles have executed their game plan with an extrem strictness.
To end this paper, I would say that it's completely logical for a player as Donovan McNabb to reach the NFC Championship game once again.

23-11
