After a great start, the Buffalo Bills have to deal with a tough period.
They hosted the Cleveland Browns of ex Pats' defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel.
And things could not begin a worse way for Buffalo, quarterback Trent Edwards threw 3 interceptions on his first five attempts!
First play he threw the ball and he was picked off. Edwards (photo #5) looks for his security option too early, he doesn't wait enough his wide receivers to make the differnce. He completes 16 passes of his 26 attempts for 148 yards, 1 touchdown but 3 interceptions that came very early in the game.
Lucky for the Bills they've got a young and very talented halfback with Marshawn Lynch, this guy's so impressive, he refuses to fall down on the first contact. His legs are always on the move to gain more yardage.
Lynch (photo #23) is a sophomore running back of the university of California, compiled 119 yards through 23 carries and also 10 receptions for a total gain of 58 yards and one of them was a touchdown-catch.
He had 10 receptions because he is Edwards' target on screen passes. It shows my point on Edwards' patience.
What will happen when the Bills will face a real blitzing team like the Ravens or the Eagles?
Lynch was the first offensive option for Buffalo, for sure. When you think guys like Robert Royal and Roscoe Parrish, the two wide receivers had only one reception each. Offensively for Buffalo, that was Lynch against Browns' defense.
On the Browns side, Brady Quinn did his job by avoiding big mistakes. Brady Quinn from the university of Notre Dame, who was selected with 22nd overall draft pick in the 2007 NFL draft, had a decent game.
He threw for 136 yards with 14 of 36. We're facing the emerging of new quarterbacks in several NFL teams. Brady Quinn (photo #10) is one of them and not the less talented.
This game became really crazy at the begining of the 4th quarter. The Browns scored a touchdown on an amazing 72-yard run by Jerome Harrison (photo #35).
This was his longest one as his stats are 3 carries for 80 yards.
On the following play, Bills' rookie, Leodis McKelvin replied by scoring a touchdown on a tremendous 98-yard kickoff return, the first of his young career.
A very useful player for the Browns was kicker, Phil Dawson (photo #4) who made a perfect 5 field goals of 5 attempts and the longest one was for a 56-yard distance!
After his attempt, it remained only 1.44 before the end of the game. Buffalo could tie the game upbut Ryan Lindell missed his field goal attempt.
Cleveland won the game on a 29-27 score and is at 3rd place now with 4-6 record in the AFC, led by Pittsburgh. The Buffalo Bills are 4th, and dead last,in a tough AFC East, division of the Jets, the Dolphins, the Patriots.
