This week 12 ended with a very exciting game between the New Orleans Saints that hosted the Green Bay Packers at the Superdome.

This week is the most productive in NFL history with 831 points scored. Saints' quarterback Drew Brees added an 8th 300-yard game on his career stat sheet.

Brees (photo #9) threw for 323 yards with an amazing completion percentage: 20 of 26 attempts, he also adds 4 touchdowns.

He is the best quarterback in the NFL with 3574 yards thrown, at this point of the season. He is still on the path to break Dan Morino's record for most yards thrown in a single season.
The previous mark was established in 1984, Marino threw for 5084 yards.
San Diego judged Brees too old in 2005 and prefered Philip Rivers, who's currently the 5th thrower this season with 2806 passing yards.
Rivers has a better rating with 103.3 but Brees is just behind with 99.9.

When he left San Diego, nobody wanted to give him a chance, except Sean Payton.
The following season New Orleans acceed to the post-season for the first time since many years.
They almost got a Superbowl trip but they failed in the NFC Championship game against the Chicago Bears.
Of course Drew Brees is not the only catalyst of these good results. The emerging of Reggie Bush and also Marques Colston are the other reasons of Saints' success in the 2007 exercise.Another proofwhich shows thatyoung players have maybe youthfulness but nothing can replace game experience.

Reggie Bush is injured so it permited to some other players to show their value, Pierre Thomas is one of them.
Thomas (photo #23) ran for 87 yards in 15 carries and scored2 touchdowns. His longest run was for a gain of 31 yards.

Green Bay held out during the first half, they even led 21 to 14 at halftime until the Saints began their offensive show by outscoring the Packers 21 to nothing in the 3rd.
Packers new quarterback Aaron Rodgers (photo #12) lost control after having a good start. He threw 3 interceptions in that ball game.
He realised maybe more thanhe did before that it's really not easy to succeed to an icon like Brett Favre.

Saints' halfback Deuce McAllister (photo #28) set a new franchise record for most touchdown scored as a Saint with 54.

At the end of the 3rd there was no suspense anymore, New Orleans knew what the Packers were going todo.
Green Bay was obliged to pass on every play and forced to renounce to their running game so the Saints could be more agressive defensively by blitzing and bringing opponent's quarterback an intense pressure.

Finally New Orleans won the game on a 51-29 score, second highest score of the week behind Buffalo with 54 points.

This victory is the 6th for 5 losses for the Saints. Sean Payton and his team has to worry because they're 4th in the NFC south within Tampa Bay leads with an 8-3 record, the Carolina Panthers are second with the same record.
At the 3rd place we find the Atlanta Falcons.
On the Green Bay side, they've still got chances to reach the post-season because their division is, this year, definitely not a big one.
The NFC north is led by the Chicago Bears with 6 victories for 5 losses, the Minnesota Vikings have strictly the same record. Green Bay is 3rd with 5-6, dead last of their division.

29-51
