This week 16 in the NFL saw many games with different stakes and one of them was the confrontation for the lead of the AFC between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Tennesse Titans at LP field of Nashville.

This game was so defensive and showed how important is field position.
The Steelers' defense did its job with agressive schemes of Dick LeBeau, but the offense clearly messed things up. Guess who this huge mess, most of all, came from?
Got it, Ben Roethlisberger!
He commited 4 turnovers, 2 interceptions and 2 fumbles lost.
As I already said, this guy keeps too long the ball. He thinks he can escape any pressure.
A really disappointing thing for Pittscurgh, he lost a fumble on 3rd & goal at the 2, just before the endzone.
Sorry Ben but that's awful to lose the football this way. And once again, it happened because he did not find any target in the endzone so he decided to run for scoring the touchdown.

My point is Roethlisberger (photo #7) does too often just what he wants.
Pittsburgh, the best defense of the NFL, did not contain a 15th team under 300 total yards, it ends their record, the Titans cumulated 323 yards with both ground attack and passing game.
Roethlisberger threw for 331 yards with a decent completion percentage, 26 of 40 attempts, 2 touchdowns, 2 interceptions. In fact, he also commited 4 fumbles, lucky for him 2 were recovered by his offensive linemen.
Pittsburgh is known for being a little bit conservative so, how could you give up your running game for overpassing?
That doesn't make any sense.
You've got one of the most talented halfback in the NFL, Willie Parker, and he carried just 18 times the football for 29 yards.
Okay, Titans' ground defense is very solid and tough to beat, but why did he carry the ball only 18 times? A guy like Willie Parker is a player who can easily run the football effectively at least 30 or 32 times and even maybe more.
Mewelde Moore is a solid backup who carried the ball for 28 yards but only 3 times!
Overpassing the football is definitely not a good idea when you face the Titans, their pass defense is, at least, as good as their ground defense.
Safety Micheal Griffin picked off Steelers' thrower twice and scored 1 defensive touchdown on a 83-yard interception return.
And you've got Cortland Finnegan so in this defense you've got the n°1 & n°4 NFL best pass interceptors.
Hines Ward (photo #86) was equal to his self, he got 7 receptions for 109 yards and 1 touchdown.
Pittsburgh had to establish its running game, because defensive linemen Kyle Van Denbosch and Albert Haynesworth missed the game for the Titans.
Unfortunately for the Steelers their substitutes were hungry a lot. William Hayes and Jason Jones put a huge pressure on opponent's quarterback.
Hayes sacked just once, Jones (photo # 91) sacked 3.5 times and forced 3 fumbles!
Oh man, somebody call 911!

By the way, Steelers' wide reciever Santonio Holmes performed a great reception, a 31-yard diving catch, that was awesome!
Inside Tennessee, the offense has executed properly and did no big mistakes. Quarterback Kerry Collins was solid, he begins to look for his targets on longer distance, he starts to trust in his arm.
Collins (photo below) threw for 216 with a nice 20 of 29 pass attempts, he adds 1 touchdown.

Titans' rookie Chris Johnson is incredible, this young man for his first season as NFL player will join the pro bowl, not less!
Johnson (photo below #28) shared ball carries with Lendale White who ran the football 15 times for 48 yards and 16-69 yards for the rookie. They also add 1 touchdown each.

The Titans won this game, 31-14, which was for the AFC lead and they are now sure to have homefield advantage until the Super Bowl, if they go to...
(Don't you remember the last year's Cowboys, do you?)
