Quarterback Vince Young has been released on Monday by the Buffalo Bills, Young was in position to be the team's backup, but he struggled during the preseason. VY completed less than half of his 26 passes for only 103 yards and two picks on Saturday against Steelers' defense.
Buffalo agreed to acquire Tarvaris Jackson shortly after.
It's very sad because, according to me, Young is a talented quarterback and he has been launched too early by the Titans, they really needed a productive passer after Steve McNair moved to Baltimore.
Unfortunately VY had no idea of the real job of a NFL quarterback.

Young was effective with Tennessee, when Billy Volek started the 2006 season with 3 defeats in a row, coach Fisher decided to give the lead of the offense to Vince Young who started his pro career in the 4th game of the season, he won 8 out of the 13 games, played as starter his rookie season and was even named rookie of the year. He was also named offensive rookie of the year and was only the third quarterback to win this award. Selected for the Pro Bowl after a big rookie campaign to replace Philip Rivers. Vince Young is really not a bad quarterback. The reason why he throws so many interceptions is he has not learned the real mechanics of a good throw at the highest level. In Tennessee, he could escape complicated situations by using his legs and it worked very well. Chan Gailey's offensive schemes had good results with mobile quarterbacks in the past. NFL analysts say if he couldn't make it in Buffalo, he probably won't make it anywhere.
The ride seems to be over for VY, but there's still hope…
